Maddison is a Program Coordinator who works part-time for the Strep A Translation Team, focusing on strategic projects and collaborations. With her skills and experience in working with vulnerable people and communities as a Social Worker, Maddison is motivated to contribute to meaningful collaborations with communities impacted by Rheumatic Heart Disease and stakeholders that result in sustainable and purposeful impact.
Maddison holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Western Australia. She has previously worked in Department of Communities, Refugee Resettlement and with Unaccompanied Humanitarian Minors. Maddison also currently works part-time as a social worker at Mater Hospital in Brisbane, focusing on achieving health equity for people from refugee backgrounds and asylum seekers.
Maddison has a passion for advocacy and working in partnership with communities to create change that is responsive to the communities’ priorities, needs and strengths. She is committed to combining her passion with research to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torress Strait Islander children.
